History

PIONEER INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS was founded by; Todd Hendricks Sr. who graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While attending college, he was also fortunate enough to work full-time in the electrical controls field, which provided him with a well-rounded skill set. After graduation he worked for a local machine shop for ten years; working his way through engineering, sales, and eventually becoming President. Then Todd started his own company in October of 1998, Pioneer Industrial Systems, with a focus on engineering and custom design/build solutions.

He began to grow the company by hiring several talented engineers and in 2005 added assembly capabilities. By excelling in custom machines and automation projects, Pioneer Industrial Systems continued to grow and eventually started to get into the field of robotics. After many successful projects, Pioneer became an authorized FANUC Robotics Integrator in 2007 and has enjoyed a healthy business relationship with them ever since.

In 2008, Todd also developed a business relationship with Glasstech in Perrysburg, Oh. Pioneer Industrial Systems proudly provides on-site project management and labor services to assemble, crate, and ship their glass lines. This allows Glasstech to effectively control their labor costs without having to sacrifice on quality and delivery.

Through working closely with his customers, Todd realized a need for new technology in the tire industry. After building the traditional spray machines for over 20 years, Todd worked with his team to develop the first product line for Pioneer Industrial Systems; a Robotic Tire Spraying Machine. After lots of hard work and several years worth of revisions, Pioneer offer several models of Robotic Tire Spraying and Robotic Handling Equipment and is proud to be recognized world-wide as an industry leader.

Currently Pioneer Industrial Systems employs approximately fifty team members ranging from engineers, fabricators, machinists, assemblers, electricians, and office personnel. Pioneer continues to prides itself on maintaining a family business atmosphere, with several employees being family members working together. Recently, Todd Sr. has shifted his attention to Sales and Conceptual Engineering while the day-to-day operations of the company are being run by his wife Amy, as Chief Human Capital Officer, and son Todd Jr, as Chief Operating Officer.
